I'm back from California. It feels good to be home except the weather here is awful! It should not be cold and rainy in late July! At the San Diego airport yesterday there was a sign that said something to the effect of Please don't make any jokes about bombs or weapons. Although I do see the seriousness of this statement it makes me laugh that they have to put a sign up like that. So here are some highlights (good and bad) from my trip and these are not jokes, haha!
-Kids trying to fit in the luggage compartment in the airport
-Spending $2.90 on bottled water
-Hanging out on the beach
-A Greyhound bus driver not letting a passenger on the bus because he said she was "giving him lip"
-Meeting someone named Bugi
-Mark denying that it was really his eye shadow
-Someone convinced that I was Turkish
-Breaking in screen doors to get home
-Paying $5 to use the internet, (and don't worry they take credit cards!)
-Asking a cross-dresser for directions
-Heather falling asleep at the bar
-A random bus passenger asking us to burn his CDs off his website and distribute them to our friends
-Getting excited to see Freddie Prinze Jr., even if he's a B-list celebrity
-A lady ordering a three egg omelet on our flight home during the beverage service
-Losing my cell phone :(
-Eating dinner so we would be full for our dinner reservations at the Ivy
-A middle-aged lady wearing a thong bikini and picking food out of the trash
-Hearing Spanish EVERYWHERE
It was a fun, eventful trip, but now I'm ready to go back and finish my last year of grad school!
