I am applying for MI certification soon. I have mostly everything done, passed my MTTC tests (got almost perfect on the Math, sup), finished student teaching, and even got Nebraska certification. So to transfer over, I just need to be certified in CPR/First aid since Michigan requires this and Nebraska does not. I signed up for a class through the Red Cross and it lasts two Saturdays. I went to the first class, and our teacher was not happy about having to teach it on Saturday morning. Apparently no teacher was assigned to my class and he got called in that morning. He ended our class at 1pm (we were supposed to end at 2:30) and gave us our cards. Many of us were confused and looked around since we thought we got our cards at the completion of class the following week. Somebody finally piped up and said, "So we don't have to come next week?" He said he didn't know it was a two week class, and he had taught us everything during this class. No one argued with that! He also told us something that affects every Michigan citizen, amd might take into effect by January 1, 2007. He said that any Michigan driver (not just teachers) have to be certified before he or she can renew their license. So if this is true, if your license expires in 2007, I would definitely look into that!
Saturday was also the worst day to drive. The snow was coming down fast and heavy and the roads were really really wet! I was in Bloomfield taking the class, and somehow I took a wrong turn and wound up in West Bloomfield! So it took me a while to get home. Later that day, after shopping with Janette in Farmington, what should've taken 25 minutes to get home, took like 45! I think part of the problem was that I can't take any express ways home and the side streets were horrible. Although, I think the cities did an amazing job cleaning up the roads by Sunday for the Superbowl.
