Today is a special day. Exactly one year ago I found out we were expecting a baby. I think a woman's intuition is a very real thing and I knew I had to take a pregnancy test after feeling a little off that day. One positive test later, I called Matt and told him I had some exciting news to share with him when he came home from work. That evening, Matt was overjoyed with the news and it seemed surreal that we would be a family of 3 come summer. The next day we went to Ann Arbor for homecoming and it was very hard not to tell family or friends our little secret. We waited until close to Christmas to tell everyone and that was the hardest thing to do!
Tomorrow, Sean will be 16 weeks old and I can't believe how much of a whirlwind this past year has been with pregnancy, childbirth and becoming a Mom. I feel so blessed to have a wonderful husband and son.

Sean's first cold
Sean is having his first cold right now. It is heartbreaking watching a baby have a stuffy nose and watery eyes! Today it was 70 degrees so I took him out strolling to get some fresh air and hot weather since it was the cold weather that got him sick last weekend. His doctor gave him some bubble gum medicine (amoxicillin but that's what we used to call it) so hopefully he is all right in a few days.
I love this banner I saw on the WTE boards (LO stands for Little One)-

Doesn't Sean look like he could be a future wizard?

Birthday Weekend
On Friday, we stopped at Matt's office and had Sean meet Matt's coworkers. Here is Sean in Matt's office trying to learn the practice of law.

On my actual birthday, the 17th, we visited the Franklin Cider Mill. It is small compared to Yates (the one I usually go to in Rochester) so I think the next time I go to one, it will be Yates. Here I am with my wonderful BOB stroller and Sean all bundled up.

On Sunday, we celebrated my birthday with lunch at Mitchell's Fish Market while my parents watched Sean. I had scallops (obviously!), a grapefruit basil martini (pretty good actually), and split a banana bread pudding. It was our first time eating out since Sean was born!
Matt bought me a beautiful necklace that I adored from the movie Made of Honor. I didn't actually expect to get it, but I definitely need to start dropping more hints like this =) Sean came up with his own present and decided to increase his sleep time at night. What a great son!
Of course the best present was being able to spend my time with Matt and Sean.

Sean's Baptism/Laughing
Last Sunday, Sean was baptized at our church in Birmingham, Holy Name Parish. He slept through Mass, was happy and alert during the baptism and finally crashed during his afterparty. He did wake up for a few minutes so we had to hurry and get the pictures we wanted with all the relatives. He was a very good baby.
Here are some pictures:

Sunday, October 11th also marked the first day Sean laughed! Matt found out that Sean has a fascination with balloons. We haven't been able to get him to laugh another way, but I suspect it'll just happen when we least expect it!

3 months!
I am 3 months today! My personality is surfacing in bits and pieces. I am a lot like mom because I am curious/observant, hate to be cold, and VERY smart (ha!) Although my cute smile, dark brown hair and complete focus at anything I do are all dad. My favorite books are Dr. Seuss' ABCs and Good Puppy and my favorite activities are bathtime and watching football with dad. I am working on this thing called "laughing" at the moment.
