Movies

I haven't seen a movie in forever because I've been uncomfortable sitting for long periods without getting up and changing position. Fortunately, this has become less of an issue in the past few weeks as the baby has dropped and is off my ribs.

Yesterday Matt and I saw UP. I thought it was an excellent movie and I'm not sure if it was just me, but I also thought it was a sadder film than previous Pixar films. I think that kids won't be as emotionally invested, but as for myself, I got teary-eyed in the first 10 minutes! I am definitely going to buy this movie when it comes out.

I am also excited to see Harry Potter 6 and The Time Traveler's Wife, which is one of my favorite books and Rachel McAdams is playing Claire!

I have already seen Star Trek and thought that was very good and I wouldn't mind seeing the Hangover since I have heard it was funny.

In a week or so, Matt and I won't be able to go anywhere without taking our son or arranging for a babysitter. Therefore, I have added all of these movies to my Blockbuster Queue just in case we miss them in the theaters.

Brit Tics

I got great Britney tickets, woot! We got 5th row on the lower level, behind the floor seats. (Floor seats are over $300!)

I wonder if Baby will like listening to Britney songs to put him to sleep these next few months?? haha j/k.

Final Stretch

I had my 38 week appt a few days ago. No new news, just waiting until baby's birthday in hopefully less than 2 weeks. The hospital bags are packed, car seats installed, and the supplies are stocked. Mom and dad are anxiously awaiting a happy, healthy boy!



I am on mat. leave and am loving the weather. Actually, we've been having great weather since spring started, after a longer, colder winter than usual. I haven't had to water our plants and they are thriving since it rains a few times a week and there is plentiful sunshine. We've also been saving money for months because we don't need the heat or AC on. A homeowner's dream :)

Any Britney Fans?

Eek! She's bringing her Circus tour back to the US and performing at the Palace on Sept 8! I know I'm a little too old to go to pop/rock concerts, but I've been a longtime Britney fan and have yet to go to a Britney concert. Tickets go on sale June 19th.

Full Term and Due Date Pool

I am between 37/38 weeks and considered full term. Now when people ask when I'm due, it's fun to say "in a few weeks".



Baby is already 6 1/2 lbs and can come at any time now, although I feel he will come closer to his due date. Here is the pool my family has going for his arrival:

Traveling

Because Matt and I love to travel, we are usually planning our next trip as soon as we get back from the previous one. Now that we have a baby arriving soon, we feel it's probably best to wait until he is at least 5-6 months before taking him on an airplane. In the meantime, we intend to go up north to the Herstein condo more often, especially since we bought a golf/ski 2-year membership. Although we won't be traveling for a while, that hasn't stopped us from tentatively planning!

In Spring 2010, we would like to go to the Southeast for a beach vacay. How cute would it be to introduce our son to the ocean and play in the sand? Possible places are Hilton Head or somewhere in Florida. We would like to go with another couple who have a child so we can swap babysitting duties and also have some company.

In Fall 2010, if baby H has all of the necessary shots, we would like to go to India. Matt has never been and hopefully both sets of grandparents and other family members can join us. I haven't been to India since 9th grade, and I feel this trip is long overdue.

Lastly, in 2011, Matt and I hope to go on a Mediterranean Cruise. I've always wanted to see Greece, and Matt, the history buff, would also love to see the sites. We've already found a few cruise lines that hit Athens and Crete, plus some hit Mykonos and Santorini!

While all of these trips are very tentative, it would be great if we could carry out this schedule. We'll see if we're up to it when the time comes.
