cheesy, but funny

I got these two puns in a forward and thought they were funny. A woman has twins and gives them up for adoption. One of them goes to a family in Egypt and is named "Ahmal." The other goes to a family in Spain; they name him "Juan." Years later, Juan sends a picture of himself to his birth mother. Upon receiving the picture, she tells her husband that she wishes she also had a picture of Ahmal. Her husband responds, "They're twins! If you've seen Juan, you've seen Ahmal."

Mahatma Gandhi, as you know, walked barefoot most of the time, which produced an impressive set of calluses on his feet. He also ate very little, which made him rather frail and with his odd diet, he suffered from bad breath. This made him... (Oh, man, this is so bad, it's good)... a super calloused fragile mystic hexed by halitosis.

All right, off to do some wedding errands. I am subbing this week and next week, but I don't know if I'm working unless I get a call in the morning!

game, tasting

On Wednesday, Brian and his girlfriend Jackie invited us to see the UM vs. MSU basketball game. We had really bad seats and I assumed we were going to lose since MSU was ranked and is generally better than us. To my shock, and probably everyone else's we managed to win with the help of MSU fouling every five seconds. It was really amazing! I also thought the halftime show was interesting. This girl on a unicycle balanced bowls on her head and would kick more up with one foot and they would land (most of the time) stacked on top!

Today we had a tasting at the Marriott. Because our wedding is so close to the biannual tasting Marriott puts on, we actually got a private tasting a few months ago. But I'm really glad we went to this one. They had a huge display of appetizers, entrees, centerpieces, etc.

Tonight Matt's at his bachelor party, which consists of dinner and a hockey game. And I'm off to Ann Arbor to celebrate Dawna's birthday. She turns a quarter of a century old today!

Today is also Matt and my 6 year anniversary! We usually celebrate it, but we figured since our wedding is in a month, we'll start having a new anniversary this year. I still think it's a special day though.

I got this from my brother and Dan's blogs. I didn't realize I was so into Psychology. I do remember my psych classes fascinating me, but it is something that I can't see myself doing in the long run. Maybe just to read books in...
Today the plan is to go to the auto show. I haven't been in a few years and am excited to go back. Matt hasn't been in a while either, so I figured we had to go sometime.
Then we're going to meet Sab at the Gibraltar Trade Center. It's supposed to be a great place to get discounted stuff.

We were supposed to get a ton of snow last night, but we barely got an inch. Silly weathermen.

Hear no Evil, See no Evil, Speak no Evil

Matt and I really liked these monkeys from Tommy Bahamas. They represent "Hear no evil, see no evil, and speak no evil." We set them up on our sofa table so you can see them right when you walk in. The employee at Tommy Bahamas said that this piece was a real conversation starter. We just got them because they looked cool.

My 2005-2006 break

In the last few weeks, we celebrated Matt's birthday, Christmas, and New Year's! For Matt's birthday, I took him out to Melting Pot. We randomly went while we were in Nebraska and didn't realize they were a national chain, and that one of them was located across the street from us! If you haven't been there, it is a fun experience. We had cheese fondue for an appetizer, an entree fondue consisting of cooking our meat and vegetables in an oil fondue (kind of like frying, but not as unhealthy), and then had a chocolate fondue for dessert. Going for dessert alone is worth it!
Christmas was great, not a whole lot to say about that.
For New Year's, Matt and I went to Blue Nile with Erin and Marc.



This one is in Ferndale, so it's a closer location to us than Ann Arbor. Afterwards a bunch of us played games and watched the ball drop. It was really sad to see Dick Clark struggling on TV. He was having such a hard time speaking that I couldn't bare to watch and had to switch channels. Poor Dick, I thought he was immortal!

I had a nice,relaxing break, and I am sad to see it end. I have to start working tomorrow because I have a long-term subbing position until the end of January. At least I can get paid while I'm trying to find a job.
