Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire

Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire was a great movie. I thought the special effects and staying true to the story were very well done. I can't believe I have to wait a whole year to see the next one! The one thing I didn't like was how Dumbledore acted. He was jumpy and at one point grabbed Harry by the shoulders and almost shook him. Um....Dumbledore would not do that. In the books, he is always calm and above physical violence. Besides that, the movie was wonderful. The fourth installment of Harry Potter nabbed the fourth best opening weekend of all time. The first three, in order, were:

1. Spider Man
2. Star Wars: Episode III
3. Shrek 2

I actually saw the movie at the IMAX theater this time, which is on the same campus as Henry Ford and Greenfield Village. Seeing the movie on an IMAX screen was crazy, and since the movie was sold out, you know the people in the front row probably felt sick aftewards!

IASA Show

I went to AA on Friday to see my brother in the IASA (Indian American Student Association) show. We didn't take any still pics, so I can't put them up here. We are supposed to get a DVD of it soon. Anyways, the show was really good. Usually it is super long, but they managed to get the dances, skits, etc. in, under 3 hours. My brother was awesome. I had no idea he could dance so well! He was in the raas dance, which is where everyone uses sticks. They divided the dances up to represent the different states of India. The last one was bhangra, which is from my dad's state, Punjab. That one was really fun to watch as well! It seems so long ago when I was up on the Hill Auditorium stage doing a dance for IASA. Ahh, memories.
This week is going to be super busy. I have two observations (one from the principal, eek!) and parent/teacher conferences. I may not have time to talk to anyone until Thanksgiving break when I can start breathing again!

Matt passed his exam

Congrats to Matt!! We found out yesterday that he passed the Michigan bar exam, woo hoo!!! After his swearing in, you can start calling him Mr. Herstein Esq. hehe

Happy Fall

Matt and I went to see "In her Shoes" yesterday. It had been a while since we had seen a movie, probably since the summer! We have been really busy. The movie was good, but definitely a girl movie, but Matt was a good sport about watching it. He wants to see Jarhead, which I'm not really interested in, but I'll see it because it's all about compromise . We bought tickets to see Harry Potter the weekend it opens at the IMAX theater in Greenfield Village/Henry Ford. I'm really excited to see that!
The wind is howling like crazy today. I love seeing all the fall colors (when it's not windy of course). The colors are so beautiful and I don't really appreciate it unless I'm walking right through it. I can't imagine living in a place that doesn't have fall. I would miss it. Two and a half more weeks until Thanksgiving! And then just two more weeks of student teaching, wow!

Our Bridal Shower

The shower on October 30th was a success. My mom did an awesome job, and the decorations, food, games, and basically everything else went smoothly. Matt and I were surprised at how many gifts we received! I can't imagine how many more gifts we'll get for the wedding.
