9 months!

I have about a month to go, now that I'm entering my 9th month. I will have to remember to get Matt to take one last picture of me in the next few weeks. Stay tuned for that because I am as big as I'm going to get.

Baby is still head down and is measuring perfectly. He is adding a half pound to his weight every week!

36 Week Stats:
Pounds Gained- 30 (My Dr said I should only gain a few more pounds, phew!)
Belly Button- Still an Innie, probably will remain that way
How I'm feeling- Heavy, uncomfortable, and anxious, but still remarkably fine.

Matt installed our car seats and we are getting them inspected this weekend. I am allowing myself a Starbucks Iced Mocha every week. I feel I deserve it!

My 5 month old nephew!

Mona, Sujith, and baby Sohan came to visit this past week and I finally got to meet my nephew for the first time. (They are on a plane as we speak heading back down to Louisiana- how sad!) He is so cute in his pictures, but even cuter in person. He is at that age where he is so much fun to watch. Sohan can laugh, cry and blabber all in a 10 minute span. He is also easily occupied by the littlest things like shiny objects or even his own hands! Above, he is staring at Auntie Reena, obviously fascinated by my beauty =)

While my parents kept an eye on Sohan, we were able to go out for some yummy seafood at Mitchell's Fish Market in Birmingham. Sabrina and Walter also joined us! Besides having great entrees, their desserts were AMAZING. We ordered the java mocha brownie cup, the carrot cake and banana bread pudding for the table. Each dessert was great. I wouldn't mind going just for dessert some time.

Nursery Pictures

We are 90% done with the nursery. Since I probably won't be taking any more pictures of it until the baby arrives, I am posting pictures of the crib and bassinet. The bassinet will go in our bedroom.

My goal this week is to pack the hospital bags. We just finished our childbirth class and our instructor said it's a good idea to pack 2 bags- one for labor and one for postpartum. Matt's goal is to install the car seats in both cars.

Book Club is at my house in a few hours so I need to get off the computer and clean/make my potluck dish. Matt is golfing with his dad in A2 today.

Baby Shower at Priya

My second and last baby shower was held at Priya Indian Restaurant in Troy. My mom did a wonderful job putting it together. It was teddy-bear themed and the food was amazing. I have been liking Indian food more and more as I get older and LOVING it while I'm pregnant. My parents joke that the baby is taking after Matt since he loves Indian food more than I do (and is not Indian himself).

My hair from the back. I am HORRIBLE at hair so I am proud I was able to straighten my hair and curl the half-do. That is rocket-science for me!

Ashwin Graduates

Congrats to my brother for graduating from the University of Michigan- Ann Arbor last weekend. Here he is in front of the stadium aka the Big House.


Even though he is 21 and all grown up, he will always be my little brother.

All three of us (my older sister, me, and now Ashwin) have graduated from Michigan- the highest ranked school in the state and top 5 public school in the country. Matt, his parents, and grandparents all went to Michigan as well. Our son will truly be growing up in a UofM family. Go Blue!

8 months!

I am between 32-33 weeks. Here is my 8 month bump:



My parents are coming over soon. We have made a lot of progress in the nursery so I can't wait to show them. Matt has done an excellent job building the crib and dresser and hanging pictures. I will not post pics of it until later when it is actually somewhat done. My mom is also helping me get fitted for a sari for my upcoming Indian baby shower next weekend!
