Over halfway there!

My 21 week bump

I look much bigger than my 17 week bump below. Wow!

The fruit pictures are now in months, rather than weeks.

Father of the Year

Food has taken over my life. I am hungry ALL the time. If I leave the house even for an errand or two, I have to make sure I have just eaten or that I will be eating while I'm out. Yesterday I came home from work around 7:15 starving and ready to eat! Matt and I previously decided on carrying out from Einsteins, since I was working late, and my order was a chipotle salad, a bagel with light veggie cream cheese, and a strawberry muffin. As I was putting away my coat, Matt told me that Einsteins was closed! My heart sunk because I was really looking forward to the meal and as a pregnant person, little things can seem like tragedies. But...Matt then went on and said he went to various places and found my exact order. My tragedy became a miracle and I was so very appreciative of Matt's thoughtfulness. For making my day, Matt is Father of the Year! Baby H started kicking as soon as I started eating, no doubt very happy with the food choice. He is so lucky to have the best daddy!

It's a BOY!

It was amazing watching the ultrasound footage. Our technician had to take measurements and she was finding body parts I couldn't even see. She really does have a trained eye. She found the diaphragm, the four chambers of the heart, and the upper lip (to check for cleft palate) to name a few. She even told us that there was fluid in the stomach, which means that the kidneys are functioning and baby is able to swallow. How neat! I easily identified the head and spine and the occasional foot or hand that would pop up. Our baby was moving the whole time! Ever since a few days ago, I have felt the baby move a lot. I'll watch TV or read, and the movements are a bit distracting, in a good way. Luckily, it still feels like little pokes. I can't imagine how it feels later when the baby can pack quite a punch.

Here is our beautiful boy's profile. He had his hands near his face the whole time and at one point he was moving the umbilical cord! I'm glad he is enjoying his time because we are only halfway there!

Really?

I have noticed that everyone asks me the same questions over and over again. How are you feeling? When are you due? Is it a boy or girl? I don't mind these questions but it is funny how these are the prereq questions before we can start talking "normally". These don't compare with all the words that can piss off even the most patient expecting mom such as "Should you eat that?" or "You don't look pregnant from behind". I am usually a healthy eater, but there are times when I will want chocolate, ice cream or pop. I can't eat fruit and vegetables all the time! And I know I don't look pregnant from behind, my uterus is in front! I'm just not sure that's a compliment.

The Real reason why people smile at me!
