Easter 2015

We skipped out on the Easter Bunny this year. Every weekend has been busy with events or just me too busy with lesson planning. We still had a great Easter. The kids and us parents found our Easter baskets the morning of. Bradley got a bigger present than usual with a Spider Man bike. Sean got a mini cash register and calculator. Both boys got candy of course and a few books.
Matt was given the first season of House of Cards. We started it last night and it's pretty intriguing. The politicians are just as calculating and sleazy as they are in real life so I would say it's a pretty accurate depiction.
I received a presto pop lite popcorn popper. It's supposed to be healthier than those popcorn bags. Can't wait to try it!
We celebrated Easter at the Herstein house in Ann Arbor. Below if the pic. I am biased, but I think our boys are so handsome :)

Frozen

Sean and I saw Disney's Frozen last weekend. This was the first movie Sean sat through from beginning to end. I was pleasantly surprised with how great the movie was. The songs are still in my head and Olaf the snowman is hilarious. I have always liked Idina Menzel since Wicked, but I had no idea Kristen Bell could sing! The story is about sisters, which reminded me of my sister and I (even though our lives weren't remotely like the characters in the movie). Even though there were two sisters, I also thought about Sean and Bradley's relationship as brothers. I really hope they remain close brothers throughout life. They love each other's company now so we are on the right track. Family is so important and I have been realizing that more each year, especially after having kids. Friends will come and go, but family will always be there because they have to be and hopefully because they want to be. The movie is about two princessess but it's great for girls AND boys to see of all ages. I am going to add the Snow Queen by Hans Christian Andersen on my books to read.

Downton Abbey

Matt and I started watching this after several friends and my in-laws said that it was really good. It IS really good. We finished the first season and I am 15th on the waiting list at the library for the second season. Last night, I found out I can watch them online for free with my amazon prime membership! Woo hoo!

Matt's Birthday

Matt opted to see a movie for his December birthday this year. We saw the very long movie, the Hobbit. It was similar to Lord of the Rings since it was directed by Peter Jackson and is also written by Tolkien. I was adjusting to Sean's new non-nap schedule where I am a little exhausted, so I might have slept a little bit, but from what I saw, the movie was pretty good and I felt refreshed after it was over! hehe I was surprised to see the main character, who I think is a good comedic actor, played by Martin Freeman who was in the Office and Love Actually. Since Matt likes these kinds of movies, I assume I can catch what I missed after it comes out on DVD. The boys and I bought him a cake, two balloons, and some presents (The hobbit on cd, a green lantern usb drive and several dark chocolate candy bars from reeses, kit kat, etc). Matt turned 33 years young. Happy Birthday Matthew!!

Sean's bedtime story

Matt usually puts Sean to sleep, which entails reading a few books. Tonight, Sean decided that he was going to make up a story (and hopefully prolong going to bed, I'm sure). Here was his creative story- "Once upon a time there was a beautiful pirate daddy that lived in the mud. There was a sneaky snake that tried to eat daddy. The sneaky snake climbed aboard the pirate princess’ ship and ate daddy and turned him into solid gold forever!" He is really into pirates and the show, Jake and the Neverland Pirates, as you can tell.

Emmys 2011

It was hard to watch the Emmys Red Carpet and the Emmys last night with two small children in the house. I had to watch bits and pieces and didn't complete the show until today. And this is with a lot of forwarding! I think Award Season will be easier since Bradley will be over 6 months (right??!).
Anyways, my favorite dresses were Sofia Vergara and Evan Rachel Wood wearing Vera Wang and Elie Saab, respectively. Sofia can wear anything and look fabulous. Evan has the porcelain skin that works well with the dark, glittery dress she chose.
Modern Family won a lot of well deserving awards. I can't wait for that and Glee to start up this week.

Movies

I haven't seen a movie in forever because I've been uncomfortable sitting for long periods without getting up and changing position. Fortunately, this has become less of an issue in the past few weeks as the baby has dropped and is off my ribs.

Yesterday Matt and I saw UP. I thought it was an excellent movie and I'm not sure if it was just me, but I also thought it was a sadder film than previous Pixar films. I think that kids won't be as emotionally invested, but as for myself, I got teary-eyed in the first 10 minutes! I am definitely going to buy this movie when it comes out.

I am also excited to see Harry Potter 6 and The Time Traveler's Wife, which is one of my favorite books and Rachel McAdams is playing Claire!

I have already seen Star Trek and thought that was very good and I wouldn't mind seeing the Hangover since I have heard it was funny.

In a week or so, Matt and I won't be able to go anywhere without taking our son or arranging for a babysitter. Therefore, I have added all of these movies to my Blockbuster Queue just in case we miss them in the theaters.

Coming in Summer 2009

After seeing the International and Teaser trailer, I think this is the one we will be seeing in American theaters. It looks good! Because of that silly Broadway play Equus, the movie was pushed back so we have to wait until the summer to see it.

I'm leaving soon to help Stephanie find a wedding dress! It is very rainy today, I wonder if the Michigan game is going to be delayed?
