Leaving LA, on to San Diego
I haven't updated in a while since the LA hostel had ridiculous prices for the Internet, and then we were on a greyhound all day to San Diego. So after the first greyhound from San Fran to Hollywood (2 days ago), we were waiting around the hostel since check-in was at noon. Luckily, Heather's friend Laurie works in Hollywood and she drove us around the Hollywood Hills on her lunch break. It was pretty cool to see all the huge houses. We even saw Freddie Prinze Jr., not a huge celebrity, but one nonetheless. Laurie is a personal trainer at a star-studded gym and she told us just that day, Dave Navarro and Jerry O'Connell came in. After Laurie dropped us off we finally had a room ready for us. This guy who worked there, Bugi, pronounced Boogie, was really weird. He kept saying how 2 Fast 2 Furious was his favorite movie, and Tyrese (a black model/actor) was his role model. He kept saying "yeah mon" in a Jamaican way, even though he was Asian! He also swore a lot, I do not like when people swear, it is really annoying. We kept saying "yeah mon" throughout the day like Bugi. haha We also did some shopping on Melrose. The clothes are really expensive so I just ended up buying a scarf/belt for $7. That's a little more in my price range! That night we went to a cheap dinner place before our "real" dinner reservations at the Ivy. We knew the Ivy would be really expensive and it was so it's a good thing we arrived full. Later, we went to a place called the "Saddle Ranch," a place complete with a mechanical bull and everything. There is no way anyone was getting me to ride that thing! Some people were really good, while others were bucked off instantly, those were the fun ones to watch! My feet were killing me on the walk home (well we were supposed to take a bus, but they are so inconsistent and we didn't want to wait anymore!) and Heather was wearing flip flops so we exchanged one shoe so we were both wearing one high heel and one flip flop. We got some weird looks home, haha but we didn't really care! The next day (yesterday) we stopped by the Chinese Theater to see the walk of fame and then afterwards took the Greyhound to San Diego where we are now! We had a stopover in downtown LA which is not a good place at all to visit. We saw some guy get handcuffed at the station so we were really glad to be out of there. I guess I'll write more later since this entry is turning into a novel!
